Industrial design

From the moment we wake up to the moment we go to bed, industrial designs are all around us

What are industrial designs?

Industrial design is present in all areas of our lives.

Industrial Design can be legally defined as the appearance of the whole or a part of a product resulting from the features of, in particular, the lines, contours, colours, shape, texture and/or materials of the product itself and/or its ornamentation.

Today, design occupies an important place in the industry, and it is now very much present on websites and social media.

Registered and Unregistered Community Design

The registered Industrial Design of the European Union, called Registered Community Design (RCD) protects its holder against successive designs that produce the same general impression for successive periods of 5 years up to a maximum of 25 years. However, considering the changing world in which we find ourselves and the existence or many sectors in which such a long duration of designs could be meaningless, the figure of the Unregistered Community Design has been envisaged, protected by the mere fact of its disclosure for a period of 3 years, although with a more limited scope of protection.
